Andrew Wood

Introducing Andrew Wood, the team captain of Canada’s Youth Squad. Andrew’s sailing journey took a pivotal turn at thirteen when he transitioned to the 29er class with his brother, Ryan Wood. After enduring many cold training days on Vancouver’s waters, their dedication paid off with impressive performances at two ISAF Youth World Championships in 2014 and 2016, and three 29er World Championships.

In 2016, Andrew and his brother made the leap to the 49er FX, debuting with a second-place finish at their first regatta. Next, the brothers moved into the 49er and competed at several 49er World Championships. In 2023, Andrew competed at the International Moth Championship in Weymouth.

With a strong competitive spirit and years of commitment, Andrew Wood is making his mark in the sailing world and embracing new adventures on the water.
